What life jacket do I need?

Understanding Life Jacket Types

Before you buy, it’s important to know the difference between PFD types (Personal Flotation Devices). Each one is designed for specific water conditions and rescue situations.

Type 1 - Level 100+ (Offshore)

  • Designed for open waters and rough conditions.
  • Offers maximum buoyancy and keeps your head above water even if unconscious.
  • Recommended for offshore boating, long voyages, and areas where rescue may be delayed.

Type 2 - Level 50 (Inshore / Watersports)

  • Suitable for calm waters and near-shore use.
  • Provides good freedom of movement, making it ideal for sailing, kayaking, water skiing, and wakeboarding.
  • Not designed to turn an unconscious person face-up.

Type 3 - Level 50S (Special Purpose)

  • Designed for high-energy watersports like jet skiing and wakeboarding.
  • Bright colors for visibility.
  • Slim design for flexibility and comfort.

Children’s Life Jackets

  • Specifically tailored for kids’ safety with adjustable straps and secure fits.
  • Brightly colored with grab handles for quick rescue.

Inflatable Life Jackets

  • Lightweight and comfortable for extended wear.
  • Automatically or manually inflates when needed.
  • Great for boaters and anglers but not recommended for children or high-impact watersports.
